Sister Fey served in Elgin, Omaha

School Sister of St. Francis Joyce Fey, whose 49 years of service included teaching at Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School in Elgin and working at her order’s then-provincial house in Omaha, died Oct. 2 in Wisconsin. She was 68.
Her funeral Mass was Oct. 6 at St. Joseph Convent and interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Milwaukee.
A native of Lakewood, Colo., Sister Fey also served in Wisconsin and New York.
She taught at Pope John in Elgin from 1971 to 1975, then served two years in communications at the former provincial house in Omaha. 
Sister Fey taught at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wis., from 1980 to 1990 and from 1994 until this year, when she retired to a ministry of prayer and presence until her death at Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa.
