Third-grade teacher Barb Gilman at St. Margaret Mary School in Omaha shakes hands Sept. 19 with Jamaal Mlewa, a primary school manager in Tanzania for Omaha-based nonprofit Opportunity Education, which supports about 1,700 schools in developing countries around the world. The students are writing letters to students at schools in Dodoma, Tanzania, and Kassanda, Uganda, set up through Opportunity Education. Mlewa also visited students at St. Stephen the Martyr School and Creighton Preparatory School, both in Omaha.
