Three seniors star in Mercy Day Play

Three seniors at Mercy High School in Omaha – Erin Jones, Lyndee Hoge and Selena Hemsley – recently portrayed different phases in the life of Mother Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, the religious order that runs the all-girls school.

Acting as the Irish nun in the annual Mercy Day Play is an honor bestowed by classmates on one or more seniors.

This year, the students’ Sept. 23 performance also stressed the three charisms Mother McAuley practiced: faith, knowledge and service.
