Three parishes to offer Fair Trade sales
At least three Omaha-area parishes are offering Fair Trade sales next month, helping farmers and artisans in developing countries earn a living.
The sales will feature items from Catholic Relief Services’ Fair Trade program, said Sister for Christian Community Jean Marie Faltus, the archdiocese’s fair trade ambassador.
A similar sale is being offered Oct. 22 at the Missionary Society of St. Columban in Bellevue, and Sister Faltus said parishes sponsor several sales throughout the year. Fall sales in particular can help people do their Christmas shopping, she said.
"You can give gifts that give twice. It’s a good way to help others," Sister Faltus said.
