A big heart

Mercy High School honors art students, from left, seniors Annie Fecci, Maddi Swanson, Ava Blessie and Rachel Dethlefs help classmate Jenny Pugh, back to camera, work on a 6-foot, 100-pound fiberglass heart created for a public arts project in Lincoln celebrating Nebraska’s 150th anniversary. The artwork showing women at work – and another piece created by art teacher Jane Langenfeld at the Omaha school – will be on display with other hearts on the streets of Lincoln from May to October.
