Bake sales, dress down days and special collections helped students at 12 Catholic high schools raise more than $5,000 for Project Rachel, a healing ministry for women and men wounded spiritually and emotionally by abortion.
The check was presented in Omaha to Archbishop George J. Lucas April 17.
Marion Miner, associate director for pro-life and family with the Nebraska Catholic Conference, and Whitney Bradley, coordinator of the archdiocese’s Respect Life Apostolate with the Center for Family Life Formation, spoke about recent pro-life activities on the local, state and national levels.
Participating high schools were V.J. and Angela Skutt Catholic, Mercy, Marian, Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, Roncalli Catholic and Creighton Preparatory, all in Omaha; Daniel J. Gross Catholic in Bellevue; Scotus Central Catholic in Columbus; Pope John XXIII in Elgin; Mount Michael Benedictine near Elkhorn; Archbishop Bergan in Fremont; and Cedar Catholic in Hartington.
