A movie about the beauty and power of the rosary titled “Power in My Hands” will be shown at an Omaha church Sept. 23.
St. Gerald Parish in Ralston will show the film at its larger church in Omaha after securing the rights to screen it for up to 1,000 people, said Becky Tometich, a parishioner who helped organize the event.
Produced by the Milwaukee-based Rosary Evangelization Apostolate, it showcases Doug Barry, founder of Lincoln-based Radix evangelization ministry, Philip Rivers, quarterback of the Los Angeles Chargers, Bible scholar Jeff Cavins and others describing their experiences with the rosary.
An opportunity to pray the rosary will follow the movie. It also might serve as an inspiration as people are urged by a number of rosary advocacy groups to join a coast-to-coast rosary rally planned for 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7, Tometich said.
The effort in October will include prayers for the unborn, elderly and weak, as well as for marriage and family values, according to the Holy League of Nations, an international alliance of Catholics striving to transform cultures through prayer and fasting.
