Parish house drawing winners announced
One of its own parishioners won the Building Futures, Unlocking Dreams House Lottery at St. Patrick Parish in Elkhorn.
Kevin Daly had his ticket drawn from the 7,859 tickets sold in the drawing for the 3-bedroom, ranch-style home with an open floor plan, stainless steel appliances and hardwood floors.
Daly purchased the ticket from his son, Collin, who also won $1,000 in gift certificates for selling the winning ticket. Collin donated half of his prize to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
"The overwhelming support for this project is a testament of faith and commitment alive and well in our community," said Father Ron Wasikowski, pastor of St. Patrick Parish.
Proceeds from the lottery will fund a building expansion at the parish.
"We are excited to extend an opportunity for Kevin and his family to unlock their dream of owning a brand new home, while helping to build the future of St. Patrick's church and school," said John Dunn, development director of St. Patrick Parish.
John Krayneski Jr. of LaVista won the $5,000 second prize and Kelly Benes of Elkhorn was the winner of the $1,000 third place prize.
