St. Columbkille wins Bible Bowl
Three students from St. Columbkille School in Papillion led their team to victory in the 22nd annual Bible Bowl, held March 2 at St. Bernard School in Omaha.
Nick Mundt, a sixth-grader, won the contest for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders. Classmate Audrey Laney took second and Jake Woodard, a fifth-grader, tied for fifth. Other members of St. Columbkille's team were fourth-graders Trey Krueger and Brendan DeWerth and fifth-grader James Kolbo.
Students earn points by solving Wheel of Fortune-type puzzles featuring quotes, people, events and places from the Bible.
Three Omaha schools took the next two spots: St. Thomas More was second while St. Margaret Mary and Christ the King tied for third.
More than 60 students from 11 schools participated, including St. Bernard and Holy Cross, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Cecilia, St. Philip Neri, St. Pius X/St. Leo and St. Stephen the Martyr, all in Omaha.
