Survived by wife, Joan, Columbus; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Gary Novotny, Valparaiso, and Tammy and Mark Kreikemeier, North Bend; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Deb Birchem, West Point, and Randy and Linda Birchem, Columbus; mother, Adella Birchem, West Point; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret Wagner, West Point, and Elaine and Robert Mlnarik, Fremont; brother, Ralph Birchem, Greenbrier, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
