A sign from God: He loves you!

Signs of God’s love will be hard to miss this June, thanks to Spirit Catholic Radio Network and its supporters.

The network is sponsoring billboards in high-traffic areas along Interstate 80 and in the Omaha and Lincoln areas to draw attention to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a month dedicated to the Sacred Heart.

The billboard campaign was inspired by listeners and is designed to share a message of love, hope and faith with all who pass by, Spirit Catholic Radio said in a press release.

“The Sacred Heart is a symbol of God’s love – especially the love that Jesus has for each and every one of us. It’s depicted as a heart on fire, pierced and surrounded by a crown of thorns,” the radio network said. “For Christians, this image represents Jesus’ deep compassion, His suffering and His willingness to love us no matter where we are in life. And for anyone – no matter your faith background – it’s a powerful visual reminder that God’s mercy and unconditional love is real, and it’s meant for you.” 

Thousands are expected to see the billboards daily. They might make some people curious and provide others with a moment to reflect and pray. That’s what Jim Carroll, executive director of Spirit Catholic Radio, is hoping for.

“Even if someone isn’t familiar with the Sacred Heart,” Carroll said, “we want them to know: this love is for you, too.”
