Adore Jesus and plead for lives at Eucharistic Procession in Lincoln

You’ve brought your Catholic conscience to the polls or are prepared to do that on or before Tuesday, Nov. 5. You’ve urged others to vote for candidates and measures that will help people in need and the most vulnerable.

And you’ve prayed.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, just two days before Election Day, you can do something more. You are urged to join a Eucharistic Procession around the Nebraska State Capitol, 1445 K St. in Lincoln, praying especially for women and for children in the womb.

Catholics from around Nebraska are encouraged to join Bishop James D. Conley of the Diocese of Lincoln for the procession, which begins at 3 p.m. on the south side of the Capitol.

First Communicants from last spring are invited to lead the Eucharistic Procession in their First Holy Communion attire. Girls are asked to bring an Easter egg basket to hold rose petals and spread them in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Boys will wave flags and ring bells. Families of the First Communicants should RSVP to Lenore Rezac at lenorerezac@gmail.com or 402-430-7923.

Priests, seminarians, altar servers and First Communicants who will be part of the procession should gather on the west side of the Capitol at 2:40 p.m.  The priests, seminarians and altar servers should bring a cassock and surplice from their parish.

Everyone is asked to consider inviting others to the procession.
