Applications for kids’ grants due Dec. 31

Matthews Children’s Foundations, a nonprofit affiliated with Matthews-Aurora Funeral Solutions and Matthews Cemetery Products of Pittsburgh, is accepting grant applications through Dec. 31 for local children’s charities throughout the country.

Participating local funeral homes and cemeteries, such as John A. Gentleman Mortuaries in Omaha, sponsor nonprofits applying for the $1,000 grants.

Grants may be requested for any purpose benefiting children, such as building funds, supplies, salaries and education.

A signed letter of recommendation from the sponsoring funeral home must be submitted with the application.
