Archbishop Lucas blesses holy oils

The holy oils were blessed and priests from across the archdiocese renewed their priestly vows at the annual chrism Mass with Archbishop George J. Lucas April 10 at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha.

The oil of the sick, the oil of catechumens and the oil of chrism were distributed after the liturgy to parish representatives for use in the sacraments in the coming year. In many parishes, the oils will be presented during Holy Thursday Mass.
