The Most Reverend Michael G. McGovern, Archbishop of Omaha, has made the following clergy, tribunal and curia assignments. All assignments are effective July 1st, unless otherwise specified. 

Retirements

Effective in September, a Pallottine Father of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate will take up an assignment as associate pastor at St. Peter Parish.

Effective in October, Fr. Dominic Hoang, CSJ, will conclude his service in the Archdiocese of Omaha.

Fr. Owen Korte, retired, takes on duties as a spiritual director for seminarians at Conception Seminary College in Conception, MO, effective in the fall term of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Fr. Frank Baumert, senior associate pastor of the parishes of Rural Family K, assumes the office of parochial administrator of the same. 

Effective in September, a Pallottine Father of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate will take up an assignment as associate pastor of the parishes of Rural Family K. Fr. Anthony Weidner, associate pastor in Urban Family J, will assist Fr. Baumert until the arrival of the Pallottine Father in the Parishes of Rural Family K.  

Rural Family L – Battle Creek, Madison, Norfolk, Pierce, Stanton

Curia Appointments 

Mrs. Barbara Setter, executive secretary to Archbishop McGovern, takes on the role of executive assistant to Archbishop McGovern. Mrs. Angie Simpson concludes her work as part-time executive assistant on the Parish Support Team and takes on the role of part-time special assistant to Archbishop McGovern.  

Deacon Omar Gutiérrez concludes his service as director of the Office of the Propagation of the Faith.  

Fr. James de Anda, Judicial Vicar, is appointed as director of the Office of the Propagation of the Faith. Fr. Mauricio Tovar, parochial vicar in the parishes of Urban Family N, is appointed an official of the same office. Both assignments are effective August 1st.  

Newly Ordained Priest 

Fr. Michael Figura is assigned for summer work to St. Cecilia Cathedral. He will return to Rome for theological studies in the fall.  

Newly Ordained Transitional Deacon

Deacon Caleb Kosch is assigned to St. Margaret Mary Parish in Omaha for the summer and for the vocational synthesis phase of formation in the spring.

Service Outside of the Archdiocese of Omaha

Fr. Jaehwa Lee, parochial administrator of St. Andrew Kim Taegon Parish, concludes his service in the Archdiocese of Omaha and is recalled to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for ministry there.

Fr. Mark Nolte, pastor of St. Gerald Parish, Ralston, is released for service in the Diocese of Nashville.
