Artists’ work displayed in Governor’s Mansion

Seventeen of 1,281 winning pieces of art from the 2017 Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska will be on display in the Governor’s Mansion in Lincoln from June 16 through Sept. 28 – including work from five students in Catholic high schools in Omaha.

Two of the art pieces are from students at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, a painting by senior Vivian Caniglia and digital art by sophomore Breanna Strunc; two are from Creighton Preparatory School, paintings by junior Tyron Foster and senior Irving Delgado-Arellanes; and one is from Marian, a drawing by senior Megan Szwanek.

This is the second year an exhibit from the awards presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers has been held in the Governor’s Mansion.
