Boys Town honors archdiocesan priest

Acknowledging the honor with humility, Father Harold Buse accepted Boys Town’s Spirit of Father Flanagan Award by quoting St. Teresa of Kolkata, saying he didn’t think he’d done anything big, but may have "done many little things with great love."

Father Buse, pastor of St. Bernadette Parish in Bellevue, was honored for his service, which has included teaching religion to elementary and high school students when he served as associate pastor or pastor of St. Pius X, St. Margaret Mary and St. Leo the Great parishes in Omaha, and the parishes of St. Columbkille in Papillion, St. Francis of Assisi in Neligh, St. Theresa of Avila in Clearwater and Sacred Heart in Norfolk.

Among other ministries, Father Buse has helped with Teens Encounter Christ, Catholic Engaged Encounter and the St. Vincent de Paul Society as a spiritual adviser. He also has supervised at least 19 seminarians in parish assignments, including Father Steven Boes, Boys Town’s executive director.
