Catholic Voice honors three more jubilarians

In its Aug. 3 issue, the Catholic Voice honored religious sisters and brothers celebrating milestone anniversaries of 50, 60, 70 or more years of service to the church. Each was either born or raised in Omaha, served in the Omaha archdiocese, or both.

SISTER JOYCE ANN HERTZIG

Hometown: Omaha

Non-archdiocesan assignments: Worked with teachers and curriculum in Diocese of Mobile, Ala.; parish social ministry in Archdiocese of Atlanta, Ga.; leadership team for Dominican Sisters; tutor for adult immigrants.

75 YEARS

SISTER BERNADETTE KLEINE

Hometown: Omaha

Archdiocesan assignment: Teacher at the former St. Joseph School in Omaha, 1965 to 1980.

Non-archdiocesan assignments: Teacher in Crete, Neb.; and St. Louis, Martinsburg, Florissant, St. Mary and Mexico, Mo.; volunteer at the order’ motherhouse in O’Fallon, Mo.; prayer and presence ministry at St. Monica Retirement Center in St. Louis and at Mount Carmel Senior Living Center in O’Fallon.

60 YEARS

SISTER NADINE FLOTT

Hometown: New Orleans; late-elementary and high school, Omaha

Non-archdiocesan assignments: Teacher in Uncasville, Ct. and Helsinki and Tampere in Finland; and St. Louis, High Ridge and Cottleville, Mo.; principal in Helsinki, Finland, and Wentzville, Clinton, Boonville, Mo.; pastoral minister in Boonville and Fayette, Mo.; general councilor for her order in O’Fallon, Mo.; local coordinator for St. Joachim Community and St. Joseph Retirement Center and volunteer in O’Fallon.
