Catholics at the Capitol provides opportunity to learn, speak out

Help “build the kingdom of love, justice, and peace” in Nebraska by participating in the 10th Annual Catholics at the Capitol on Wednesday, March 6, in Lincoln.

There participants will be equipped to advocate on important issues regarding faith, life and family, said Tom Venzor, executive director of the Nebraska Catholic Conference (NCC), organizer of the  8 a.m. to 2 p.m. event.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about current legislative bills, reach out to their state senators and watch live legislative debate.

Presentations will be given by Gov. Jim Pillen, Attorney General Mike Hilgers, Sens. Carolyn Bosn of Lincoln and Lou Ann Linehan of Elkhorn and NCC staff.

Those attending have been urged to wear red for the day.

Tickets are $15 and include breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Register by Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Catholics at the Capitol.

For further information, contact Paige Brown at pbrown@necatholic.org or 402-477-7517.

“With a decade of Catholic advocacy under our belts,” Venzor said, “we want to celebrate the invaluable change we’ve made and look forward to all the change to come.”
