February 20, 2025
Feb. 13 was a big day for Essential Pregnancy Services.
The Omaha-area pregnancy resource center raised $370,000 at its annual benefit dinner to help mothers facing unexpected pregnancies, while also announcing EPS’s new executive director to supporters at the dinner.
Dennis “Denny” Waggoner, an already familiar face at EPS, was named to lead the nonprofit.
Waggoner had already served as interim executive director and finance director before being named to the more permanent lead role.

“The move gives the historic pregnancy resources center seasoned, pro-life passionate leadership as it works to empower women experiencing the physical, emotional, and financial demands of under-supported pregnancies,” EPS said in a written statement. “Denny brings decades of executive level business experience to EPS as it builds a strategic plan to grow its services, especially in education and mental health.”
The benefit dinner – GLOW 2025, held at CHI Center in downtown Omaha – drew more than 750 people for a night of celebration to support life and the mothers and families needing assistance.
Omaha City Council member Aimee Melton served as emcee.
Steventhen Holland – author, recording artist, worship leader, motivational speaker, national pro-life speaker and founder of the nonprofit organization Broken Not Dead Ministries — was the keynote speaker. Steventhen spoke with hope from a place few can imagine, as the son of an intellectually disabled mother who chose life for her baby after a horrific gang rape.
EPS supporters John and Mary Kellogg received a Spirit of EPS Award for their longtime support, which included John Kellog’s legal counsel.
Archbishop George J. Lucas was honored for his continuous support of life and exemplary service to the Archdiocese of Omaha.
All EPS services are free for women and families and include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, helpline support, parenting education classes, licensed mental health counseling and case management. Last year, the EPS boutique gave away more than 30,000 items, including diapers, wipes, toys and car seats, the organization said.
EPS has two clinic locations in the Omaha area in addition to an administrative office at 3171 N. 93rd St.
Volunteers and donations are welcomed, EPS said.
