March 8, 2024
Father Jeff Mollner has been named Boys Town’s national director of mission and spirituality, Boys Town and the Archdiocese of Omaha announced Friday.
“It is a privilege for me to be joining Boys Town, an organization that I have long respected and admired,” Father Mollner said. “I feel called to work in youth ministries and I am honored to join those who have followed in Father Flanagan’s footsteps in spiritually guiding youth and giving them hope for tomorrow.”
Father Mollner will also serve as pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish-Dowd Chapel on the Boys Town campus. He has been a priest for 15 years and currently serves as pastor of St. Bernadette Parish in Bellevue and Holy Ghost Parish in Omaha, as well as chaplain and spiritual counselor at Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School.
“Father Mollner is an excellent choice to continue the spiritual leadership begun by Father Flanagan and to bring the light of faith to current Boys Town residents and staff,” said Archbishop of Omaha George J. Lucas. “The members of Immaculate Conception Parish on the Boys Town campus will find Father Mollner an experienced pastor.”
Father Mollner is the sixth Catholic priest to serve as the spiritual leader of Boys Town. He has experience with youth ministry at the grade school, high school and collegiate levels.
“Boys Town remains focused on ensuring that the faith and spirituality of all of our youth continue to thrive for generations to come,” said Rod Kempkes, Boys Town’s chief executive officer. “Please join us in welcoming Father Mollner as he begins his new role of fostering Boys Town’s community of faith and in thanking the Archdiocese of Omaha for its guidance throughout this process.”
Father Mollner will begin his duties at Boys Town on April 2.
