Helping others

Fifth- and sixth-graders Christopher Shefl, kneeling at left, Isaac Hoffman, Brooke Fanta, Joseph Barnell and Carter Condon at St. Ludger School in Creighton stand with 101 shoeboxes filled with toys, cups, socks, gloves, school supplies and other items for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, a North Carolina-based international relief organization. Students at the school and members of St. Ludger Parish, the YDisciple youth program, and St. Ignatius Parish in Brunswick recently collected the items, which will go to the needy as part of a program that reaches more than 100 countries around the globe.
