Irish gathering to benefit others

Irish food, music and dancing will highlight a March 4 fundraising celebration for the Mother McAuley Division of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians at The Firefighters Hall in Omaha.

Money raised will go toward charitable missions supported by the Catholic women’s organization, including the Holy Family Parish lunch program for the needy in Omaha and the Missionary Society of St. Columban in Bellevue. The Order of Hibernians also promotes the ideals, traditions and culture of the Irish people.

Irish stew, dinner rolls and hot dogs will be on the menu, with music by The Shenanigans and dancing by the Craoi na Tire Irish Dancers and the Dowd Irish Dance Academy. Music from an Irish bagpiper will help end the day.

Known as the Hooley, the event will run from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets that include the meal will be available at the door and cost $10 for adults, $5 for children and $30 for a family.
