Mass, rosary to be offered for vocations
July 22, 2026
You are invited to join the Serra Club of West Omaha for an Aug. 17 Mass and a rosary to pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated religious life.
The event will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 5801 Oak Hills Drive in Omaha, beginning with the rosary at 5 p.m.
Archbishop Emeritus George J. Lucas will celebrate the 5:30 p.m. Mass, with Father Will Targy concelebrating.
Deacon Chris Hanson of St. John Vianney Parish and archdiocese seminarians Kyle Snodgrass, Max Brown and Peter Ginn will assist.
After Mass, Father Targy will speak at a reception about his vocation story and his first year as a priest.
Father Targy was ordained by Archbishop Michael McGovern in 2025 and serves as associate pastor of Holy Spirit Catholic Parishes, with parishes in Coleridge, Hartington, Newcastle, Osmond, Plainview, Ponca and Randolph.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the Aug. 17 gathering. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and cake will be available at the reception.
