“May we keep Christ at the center of all we do.”

Across northeast Nebraska, Catholic schools are welcoming students back for the 2025-2026 school year. Vickie Kauffold, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Omaha, has a special message for those who play a unique and critical role in educating students from preschool to 12th grade.

Dear Students, Families, Teachers, and Staff,

As the new school year begins, we welcome each of you back with joyful hearts and renewed hope. Whether you’re stepping into the classroom for the first time or returning for another year of learning and growth, know that you are a cherished member of your school community.

This year, may we keep Christ at the center of all we do. Let us strive not only for academic excellence but for a deeper love of God and one another. May our schools be places where faith is nourished, hearts are formed, and each child is seen as a unique and precious gift from God.

To our students: You are a shining light in your communities. Carry the values of compassion, honesty, and service with you each day. Know that you are never alone—Christ walks beside you, and so do your teachers.

To our teachers and staff: Thank you for your tireless dedication. You do more than teach; you inspire, guide, and nurture the faith of our future generations. Your vocation is a blessing to us all.

To our families: Your role is irreplaceable. Your love and guidance are the foundation of your children’s faith journey. Thank you for entrusting our schools with their education and spiritual formation.

May this school year be filled with many blessings, new friendships, and opportunities for growth. I look forward to witnessing the incredible achievements of our students and the continued dedication of our staff and families. God bless you.

Yours in Christ,
Vickie Kauffold, Ed.S.
Superintendent of Schools
