Mount Michael excels in Academic Decathlon

As the first small-school overall champions in the Nebraska Academic Decathlon, students from Mount Michael Benedictine School near Elkhorn traveled to the national competition in Madison, Wis., April 21 and won Rookie of the Year for highest score among first-time teams.

The team also earned 14 individual medals, took third in its division and second in the finale, the Super Quiz, which involved 50 teams of three students each competing before an audience, with 10 seconds to answer questions on a variety of subjects.
