Nebraska Catholic Day of Giving emphasizes state’s shared Catholic values

The third annual Nebraska Catholic Day of Giving is set for Wednesday, May 6.

The 24-hour fundraising event is a joint effort of the Diocese of Grand Island, the Diocese of Lincoln and the Archdiocese of Omaha and allows Catholics throughout the state to emphasize their shared Catholic mission and values.

Last year, more than $1.1 million was raised for 204 organizations across the state, including 107 in the Archdiocese of Omaha. The advanced giving period begins April 20.

The uniquely Catholic day “is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the impact Catholic organizations have on our entire state,” said Bree Kotulak, director of the archdiocese’s Stewardship and Development Office. “We are so thankful for our generous donors who support our outstanding parishes, schools and ministries.”

The organizations that raised the most money in the archdiocese last year included the Society of St. Vince de Paul Omaha, the Father Flanagan League Society of Devotion and St. Patrick Parish in Fremont.
