New members named for priest boards

Membership of three priest boards for 2016-2017 was finalized last month with the completion of the nomination and appointment process.

Seven priests were newly appointed as deans on the Priests Council, three to the Personnel Board and one to the Priests Retirement Board.

New deans include:

Urban Southeast – Father Damian Zuerlein, St. Frances Cabrini, Omaha.

Rural Central – Father Daniel Andrews, Sacred Heart, Norfolk.

Urban West Central – Father Richard Reiser, St. John Vianney, Omaha.

Suburban South – Father David Reeson, St. Columbkille, Papillion.

Rural North Central – Father James Keiter, St. John the Baptist, Fordyce; St. Joseph, Constance; St. Boniface, Menominee.

Rural Southwest – Father Keith Rezac, St. Charles Borromeo, North Bend, and St. Leo, Snyder.

Suburban North – Father David Belt, St. Patrick, Fremont.

Beginning new terms on the personnel board are Father Thomas Bauwens, St. Wenceslaus, Omaha; and Father Mark Tomasiewicz, St. Michael, Albion, and St. John the Baptist, Petersburg. Father Jeffrey Lorig, St. Ludger, Creighton, and St. Ignatius, Brunswick, was appointed to complete the term of Father Scott Hastings, vicar for clergy and judicial vicar, who serves on the Personnel Board ex officio.

Father Harold Buse, St. Bernadette, Bellevue, starts a term on the Priests Retirement Board.
