‘Pink Out’ event helps cancer patients

Fans and students wore pink to a Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School boys basketball game Feb. 6 in Elgin, and five gift baskets were raffled off at halftime to raise $450 to help cancer patients and survivors at a hospital in Norfolk.

The school’s chapter of the National Honor Society organized the “Pink Out” event and made the baskets. Proceeds will go to the Hope Fund at Faith Regional Health Services.
