Pro-life events slated for August and October

Two pro-life events – in August and October – will offer opportunities to learn, celebrate, be inspired and support pregnant mothers and their children.

Essential Pregnancy Service (EPS) and the EPS Auxiliary will be hosting a 13th Annual Breakfast for Life, to be held  9:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Center, 14330 Eagle Run Drive in Omaha.

Guest speaker Angelina Giles, a family nurse practitioner and executive officer of Sancta Familia  Medical Apostolate in Omaha, will share how she benefited from the help and guidance of EPS when she faced an unexpected pregnancy at age 18. She now counsels abortion-vulnerable women and helps reverse the abortion pill procedure for women who’ve changed their mind after taking the pill.

People are asked to register for the $40 fundraiser by Aug. 4. Details and registration information are available at  https://friendsofeps.org/.

The 2023 Bishops’ Pro-Life Banquet & Conference will be Oct. 6 and 7 in Lincoln. The theme is “The Truth Will Set You Free.”

Keynote speaker will be Joe Heschmeyer, an apologist with Catholic Answers media ministry based in California.

The Oct. 6 banquet will include a 5:30 p.m. cocktail hour, 6:30 p.m. dinner, an award ceremony and the keynote address.

The Oct. 7 conference – 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Embassy Suites at 1040 P St. in downtown Lincoln – will include prayer and talks on public policy issues, Catholic social teaching, medical conscience rights, myths of the contraceptive culture, defending school choice and reviving post-abortion healing ministries in Nebraska.

Single tickets for the banquet and conference are $100; banquet-only tickets are $65; and conference-only tickets are $55. Other rates are available for tables of 10 and for priests, religious, students and vendors.

Hotel room reservations and child care will be available for attendees.
