Pulsera Project

Kindergarteners AvaLynn Swassing, left, and Ava McKamy, and fifth-grader Sophia Savoie at St. Pius X/St. Leo School in Omaha look at pulseras (bracelets) made by artists in Nicaragua and Guatemala. The items were offered for sale during a pop-up store sponsored by the school’s student council. Students purchased 560 bracelets and four small bags, raising $3,130 for the Pulsera Project, which provides money for scholarships, secondary education, health care and other programs in Central America.
