School fundraiser generates $500,000

About 600 people helped raise more than $500,000 for Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart at the Omaha school’s annual Congé dinner and auction Jan. 29 at the Embassy Suites in La Vista.

With tables and chairs dressed in white, votive candles lighting up centerpieces and guests served chicken pot pies, the evening matched this year’s theme DASHing through the Snow, a play on the school’s acronym D.A.S.H.

Money raised at the event – chaired by parents Julie and Steve Kenney, Molly and Toby Schropp, Julie and Mark Oberlies, and Kara and Joe Spitzenberger – will go toward the school’s operating budget and tuition assistance program.
