Schools, parishes and families pray thousands of rosaries for vocations in October

Catholics across the Archdiocese of Omaha prayed more than 17,500 rosaries for vocations during the fourth annual Rosary Rally in October, led by the Archdiocese’s Vocations Office. Participants logged their rosaries online while praying for seminarians and for young men and women discerning priesthood and religious life.

About half of the rosaries were prayed together, in classrooms, parish groups, adoration hours, and larger gatherings, rather than alone.

Catholic schools were among the most active participants. Students from St. Patrick’s in Elkhorn, Archbishop Bergan, Mary Our Queen, Cedar Catholic, Mount Michael, and many other schools prayed in classrooms and at all-school gatherings. St. Bernadette School in Bellevue reported praying 945 rosaries for seminarians in October, through individual and small-group prayer and three all-school rosaries.

Parishes and community groups also joined in, including Knights of Columbus members, Catholic Daughters, Serra Club members, women’s rosary groups, the Missionary Benedictine Sisters, residents of nursing homes and assisted-living communities, and families praying at home. Participation reached from Bellevue and Gretna to Norfolk, Wayne, and Wisner, and even beyond the archdiocese.

The Rosary Rally concluded October 31, but prayer for vocations continues. Learn more about the men you’ve been praying for at omahavocations.org/current-seminarians
