Spirit Catholic Radio helps the needy

More than 380 pairs of socks, 119 pairs of gloves and 59 pairs of boots, as well as 178 hats, 10 scarves and 59 coats will help the needy in Omaha after Spirit Catholic Radio’s Warm Up Winter donation campaign.

Additional warm weather clothes were collected through the radio station’s recent campaign in Columbus, Norfolk, Grand Island, Hastings and Lincoln.

More than 1,500 items will be distributed by Catholic Charities in the Omaha archdiocese, Catholic Social Services in the Lincoln diocese and Blessed Sacrament Parish in Grand Island.

"Spirit Catholic Radio’s goal in creating the Warm Up Winter campaign was to help our neighbors," said Jim Carroll, the station’s executive director. "We thank the generous listeners who helped make this campaign a success."
