Students selected for state all-star band

Three Omaha eighth graders from the Music in Catholic Schools program were named to the Nebraska State Bandmasters 2019 All-State Band. They are: John Watson of St. Robert Bellarmine School, fourth clarinet; Amelia Larson of Holy Cross School, ninth clarinet; and Allie Geist of Mary Our Queen School, second bass clarinet.

More than 400 students from across Nebraska auditioned for the 82 spots. The band will meet Jan. 19 at Kearney High School for rehearsal and a public concert at 4 p.m.
