Theater program is honored

Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School’s theater program is getting some special attention this year.

Becca Jackson York, in her fourth year at the school as director of theater arts and vocal music, has been awarded Nebraska Thespian Teacher of the Year by the state chapter of the International Thespian Society. And John Schultz, principal, received the Nebraska Thespian Administrator Award.

Students nominate instructors and teachers in the society’s Nebraska chapter vote on teacher of the year, while teachers nominate and vote on administrators.
