Three cathedral choirs come together in song

The St. Cecilia Choir held a special reunion concert April 20 at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha.

The choir invited choir members from Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City, Iowa, who participated with them in Rome two years ago in the closing Mass of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy at St. Peter’s Basilica.

Joining those two choirs for the free concert, which was hosted by the Cathedral Arts Project, were members of the choir at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls, S.D.

“It was a lot of fun to do this,” said Marie Rubis Bauer, director of music for the archdiocese. “We all have the same mission. Since the church is universal, it turns out that a lot of our repertoire is the same.”
