Three students win Polish Heritage honors

Three Omaha-area students are beginning their freshman year at Catholic high schools with $1,000 scholarships as winners of the annual St. John Paul II essay contest run by the Polish Heritage Society of Nebraska.
Winners are Gabriel DeWeese, a graduate of St. Margaret Mary School attending Creighton Preparatory School, and Isabella Goaley, a graduate of St. Pius X/St. Leo School attending Mercy High School, all in Omaha; and Alexandra Hezel, a graduate of St. Columbkille School in Papillion, attending Marian High School in Omaha.
