WATCH: Archbishop McGovern’s homily from Mass for Pope Leo XIV

Nearly 100 lay people – together with Archbishop Emeritus George Lucas and 70 priests from the Archdiocese of Omaha – gathered at St. Patrick Church in Fremont Wednesday as Archbishop Michael McGovern celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving for the election of Pope Leo XIV.

In his homily, Archbishop McGovern expressed gratitude for the new Holy Father and prayed that Pope Leo will help encourage the faithful to live so that people see the Risen Christ alive in them.
