WATCH: Pope Leo IV closes holy door, Jubilee Year

Pope Leo XIV closed the holy door of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on Jan. 6, officially ending the Church’s 2025 Jubilee Year.

Catholics who embraced the year’s theme “Pilgrims of Hope” continue as pilgrims, though, as “all our lives are a journey,” the pope said. Those Pilgrims of Hope continue to journey “toward the new Jerusalem, the city whose doors are always open.”
