LIFE CHAIN

They held signs, prayed, smiled and waved to honks and thumbs ups, and despite occasional jeers and obscenities.

They were Life Chain demonstrators in Omaha and in communities across the Archdiocese of Omaha, including parishioners from St. Rose of Lima Parish in Crofton and St. Francis Borgia in Blair.

In Omaha the pro-life witnesses were positioned along Dodge Street and West Dodge Road, from 60th Street to 90th Street, organized mostly through parishes, schools and other faith-based groups.

Thousands of Life Chains took place Sunday in communities big and small in the United States and Canada. The peaceful, prayerful demonstrations have been held annually since 1987.
