Young people go “To the Heights” at Seek Conference

Hundreds of young people from the Archdiocese of Omaha, including 154 students from the JPII Newman Center in Omaha, attended SEEK26 in Denver, Colorado, the first week in January.

The five-day conference, which kicked off on New Year’s Day, included prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, the sacraments, speakers, and several breakout sessions. Its theme, “To the Heights!” was inspired by St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, canonized in September, whom the Catholic Church holds up as a role model for young people as they journey through life.

In a pre-recorded video message, Pope Leo XIV encouraged young people attending SEEK to “Be open to what the Lord has in store for you,” adding that “if you sense the Lord calling you, do not be afraid.”

In addition to Denver, SEEK26 conferences were also held in Columbus, Ohio, and Fort Worth, Texas. Along with students from the JPII Newman Center, students from Wildcat Catholic at Wayne State College, several priests and seminarians also traveled to Denver for the conference.
