Three archdiocesan schools honored as Blue Ribbon Schools
October 7, 2025
Three Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Omaha have been recognized as 2025 Blue Ribbon Schools, according to the Nebraska Department of Education.
Mary Our Queen Catholic Elementary School in Omaha, St. Isidore Elementary School in Columbus and Mount Michael Benedictine High School in Elkhorn received the blue-ribbon designation based on student performance data, including assessment results, student subgroup performance, and graduation rates. The honor spotlights schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools program was discontinued this year; however, Mary Our Queen, St. Isidore and Mount Michael had already applied and met the standards based on last year’s benchmarks. In their applications, these schools detailed their school culture, programs, assessments, instructional practices, professional development, leadership, family and community involvement.
