Additional tickets made available for Archbishop Fulton Sheen Mass of Beatification

The Diocese of Peoria has released additional tickets for the Mass of Beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.

The Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Beatification is the final step before canonization and will bring Archbishop Sheen one step closer to becoming the first American-born bishop to be declared a saint.

Bishop Louis Tylka of the Diocese of Peoria said in a statement that he has been overwhelmed by the response from Catholics and others around the world who want to be a part of this historic moment in the life of the Church.

“Your enthusiasm, prayers, and love for Archbishop Sheen have been both humbling and inspiring,” Bishop Tylka said. He encouraged those who want to attend the Mass to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

Several events celebrating the beatification of Archbishop Sheen will be held in Peoria and St. Louis before and after the Sept. 24 Mass. For tickets for the Mass of Beatification and other events, the complete schedule of events, hotel information and pilgrimage resources, please visit celebratesheen.com.

The Diocese of Peoria is also asking for volunteers for the Mass of Beatification in St. Louis and the Sheen Awards Gala on Sept. 25 in Peoria. Those interested in volunteering can find more information here.
