Archdiocese wraps up third annual Rosary Rally for Vocations
December 11, 2025
Catholics in northeast Nebraska prayed more than 40,000 rosaries for vocations last month as part of the Archdiocese of Omaha’s November Rosary Rally for Vocations.
The third annual rosary rally was a monthlong campaign by the archdiocese Vocations Office to pray the rosary for young adults discerning calls to the priesthood and consecrated life. The Vocations Office asked that rosaries be prayed to encourage young people seeking to follow the Lord’s call amid distraction, pressure and doubt.
The Rosary Rally for Vocations was moved from October to November this year to better align with National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 2-8. Currently, 22 men from the archdiocese are in seminaries discerning the priesthood, and 16 men and women are in formation for consecrated life.
“The past three years we’ve done these rosary rallies, we’ve prayed 150,000 rosaries for these young people,” said Father Scott Schilmoeller, director of vocations for the archdiocese, in a thank-you video. “We won’t know the impact that this has for our young people or for our archdiocese, but we do know that any time we entrust ourselves to our Mother Mary, she brings about good.”
Throughout November, small groups prayed the rosary at their meetings. Families prayed together. Archdiocese of Omaha seminarians and Missionary Benedictine Sisters of the Norfolk Priory held virtual rosary events.
