Church plans
April 18, 2019
Eighth-grader Christopher Treu hammers in a stake Aug. 18 held by kindergartner Hosea Sanchez outlining an area planned for a parish church near St. Matthew the Evangelist School in Bellevue. Plans for a capital campaign are underway, with hopes of completing a church by December 2019. Currently, Masses are held in the school gymnasium, and students and teachers planted stakes for a new church after an all-school Mass that opened the school year. Looking on are sixth-grader David Burgos, left, and Treu’s twin brother, Jeffrey.
