College of Saint Mary selected for diversity institute

An Omaha college is one of 25 in the United States selected for the second annual Diversity, Civility and Liberal Arts Institute, to be held June 2-5 in Atlanta.

College of Saint Mary is the only Nebraska school selected for the institute, which aims to help faculty and administrators address issues of diversity, civility, inclusion and student unrest on college campuses.

The school will send two faculty leaders and two administrators to learn from prominent humanities and social science scholars, whose presentations will cover recent research and developments.

Participating colleges will incorporate what they learn into specific courses, advising and counseling services, and co-curricular activities.
