Conference for women will celebrate mercy

As the Year of Mercy draws to a close, women of the archdiocese are invited to celebrate the mercy of Jesus with a special Mass, speakers and reflection Nov. 5 at St. Patrick Church in Fremont.

Pope Francis’ Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy officially ends in November with the Solemnity of Christ the King, but it will continue in spirit, said Bill Beckman, director of the archdiocese’s Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.

"It’s something we don’t want to end, it’s something we want to continue in our lives," Beckman said.

The 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. women’s conference will feature Kitty Cleveland of New Orleans, a speaker, singer and songwriter; and Kelly Wahlquist, assistant director of the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and author, speaker and founder of WINE: Women in the New Evangelization.

The $40 cost includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Women can register at regonline.com/womensjubilee16 or contact Beth Carlson, bccarlson@archomaha.org or 402-557-5610.
