Catholic Voice

Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha has hired a new principal, the school announced Jan. 17.

Bill Gotch –  a 1991 Creighton Prep graduate who serves as director of strategic initiatives and summer programs at St. Ignatius College Preparatory School in San Francisco – will begin as Creighton Prep’s principal beginning July 1, said Jesuit Father Matthew Spotts, president of the school.

“Mr. Gotch is deeply steeped in Jesuit and Catholic education,” Father Spotts said in the written announcement. “… His experience, coupled with his strong sense of purpose as an educational leader rooted in the Jesuit mission, is right in line with the priorities of a mission-animated leader that we seek as principal of Creighton Prep.”

Gotch replaces former principal Jim Bopp, who left in July. Joe Ryberg has been serving as interim principal.

“I’m excited about the level of classroom instruction, the overall curriculum, the incredibly dedicated faculty, and the visionary direction the current leadership has planned for Creighton Prep in the years to come,” Gotch said in the school’s announcement.

“Above all, I’m most excited to be an instrumental part of an unbelievable Prep community that has meant so much to me, my family, my friends, my Prep schoolmates, and Omaha. It’s just an incredible privilege and honor. I’m humbled and grateful and ready to get to work.”
