Essential Pregnancy Services announces new executive director

Kerri Gilson has been named the executive director of Essential Pregnancy Services (EPS), the organization’s board of directors announced Jan. 17.

“We are thrilled to announce Kerri as the new Executive Director of EPS,” said Kim Volpone, president of the EPS board. “With 27 years of professional nursing experience and over 30 years of support for pro-life work and ministries, we have confidence in her command of the pro-life landscape.”

Gilson comes to EPS from Nebraska Methodist College. The Omaha native has a wide range of experience in the fields of healthcare and business. She replaces Laura Buddenberg, who is retiring.

“It is an honor and privilege to be chosen to lead such an amazing, life-giving organization,” Gilson said. “My desire is to work and live a purposeful life while honoring God’s design for human beings – born and unborn – from conception to natural death.”

As executive director, Glison will oversee the administration, financial management, development and fundraising, and day-to-day operations of the organization, including its 30 staff members and extensive volunteer network.

EPS is a 501(c)(3) organization and exists to provide life-affirming, holistic support to women experiencing unexpected or under-supported pregnancies.
